Projects

From research questions to concrete projects

Kantrapunkt projects are specific research and analytical initiatives with a defined purpose, timeframe, team and outcomes

They are developed within our research programmes and allow us to move from broad questions to the study of specific problems, the testing of research hypotheses and the exploration of possible solutions

Project 01

Underutilized Human Capital

Research question

What happens to the accumulated professional and civic capital of Belarusians aged 45+ after forced migration?

People in mid- and later stages of their careers often arrive in a new country with decades of professional, managerial, expert and civic experience. This capital does not disappear with migration, but it cannot always be put to use in a new context.

Kantrapunkt examines what helps or hinders people aged 45+ from putting their accumulated professional and civic capital to use after forced migration to Poland, how they rebuild their professional trajectories, and how they assess the extent to which they are able to realise their potential.

The project includes biographical interviews, an expert discussion and focus groups. The findings will be synthesised in an analytical brief and will inform the further development of the research.
